My goal as a chef is to continue to offer joy through food. It was once with our popular healthy brunches, but now I am igniting healthy mindsets. Culturally responsive teaching of food education and civic engagement has also transformed me.
Here is one of our uncut videos with Chef Marilyn at Banana Kelly Community Improvement Associations Summer Camp. Our Youth Food Entrepreneur Course was a hit! The Children harvested all the ingredients for their bottled sauce from a local South Bronx garden and created an original slogan. They also learned teamwork, state regulations and cooking skills.
One of our many great moments! The students at School In The Square and Divine Appetite invited Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer to listen to their Food Justice Initiative, "Less is More" Boy were we proud of each other.
